RUAHA NATIONAL PARK.

Ruaha National Park is the largest park in Tanzania. Usangu game reserve added an important wetland to the park & increased its size to about 20,226km2 thus make the largest national park in Africa. The park is located in central Tanzania 128km from west of iringa.

Ruaha national park is derived from Ruaha River which flows along southeastern margin and is the focus for game viewing. A fine network of game viewing roads follows the Great Ruaha and its seasonal tributes where during the dry seasonal-impala and waterbuck and other antelopes risk for sip of life –sustaining water

However the park is a part of the 45,000 km2 of Rungwa- Kizigo- Muhesi ecosystem which includes Rungwa game reserve, kizigo and muhesi game reserve, the mbomipa wildlife management area and several other protected areas.
